A note on the dates. When IDEX 2027 was first announced in February 2025, ADNEC Group gave the dates as 21 to 25 January 2027. The official IDEX website now lists 25 to 29 January 2027. Why an IDEX exhibition stand is built differently

At a general trade show, a stand earns its place through footfall. At IDEX it earns its place through a small number of high-value conversations: an official delegation on a tight schedule, a procurement team asking for a private briefing, a partner ready to sign on day three. Our defence exhibition stand design starts from those moments, and we judge every stand by Return on Experience, meaning what each visitor actually gains from the time they spend with you, rather than by badge scans.

01

A reception built for delegations

Official delegations arrive on schedules, often with protocol staff and media in tow. The front of the stand needs a controlled welcome point, a clear route to a hosting area and enough room for a group to gather without blocking the aisle.

02

Briefing rooms that stay private

Defence discussions rarely belong in an open lounge. Enclosed meeting rooms with solid walls, doors and sound-conscious finishes let your team brief visitors without being overheard by the neighbouring stand.

03

Showing capability you cannot ship

Many systems cannot be displayed in full, or at all. Large-format screens, scale models, interactive content and simulation stations carry the story instead, and each needs power, sightlines and lighting planned from the first sketch.

04

An identity that reads across the hall

With 1,565 brands and exhibitors at the 2025 edition, a stand has seconds to be recognised. Elevated branding, disciplined colour and one clear message help the right visitors find you from the far end of the aisle.

Our work as an IDEX exhibition stand builder at ADNEC

Each project below was designed and built by Levo Exhibitions for IDEX 2025 at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi. Stand sizes are taken from our project records.

India Pavilion at IDEX 2019 with orange overhead structures and multiple interactive display stations, built by Levo Exhibitions at ADNEC Abu Dhabi

India Pavilion, 200 sqm national pavilion

  • ClientIndia Pavilion, carrying Department of Defence Production branding
  • ShowIDEX 2019
  • Stand size200 sqm
  • VenueADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi

Levo Exhibitions built the 200 sqm India Pavilion at IDEX 2019. Orange overhead structures tied the pavilion together and marked it out from the aisle, with Department of Defence Production branding and national flags carrying the official identity.

Inside, the layout was organised around a row of interactive display stations, kiosks and digital screens showing defence content, with an illuminated reception counter at the front and seating for visitors who stayed for a longer conversation.

INDRA exhibition stand at IDEX 2025 with a large digital screen showing airspace surveillance content, built by Levo Exhibitions

INDRA, 104 sqm technology stand

  • ClientINDRA, Spanish technology and defence group
  • ShowIDEX 2025
  • Stand size104 sqm
  • VenueADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi

Levo Exhibitions built a 104 sqm stand for INDRA at IDEX 2025. The display zone carried airspace surveillance and systems content across large digital screens set into metallic wall panels, beneath illuminated overhead branding visible across the hall.

Behind the display zone, lounge and meeting areas finished with grey upholstery, warm floor lighting and timber feature walls gave the INDRA team space to host visitors away from the aisle.

ABIMDE Brazil pavilion stand at IDEX 2025 with illuminated member company displays in blue branding, built by Levo Exhibitions

ABIMDE, 81 sqm association pavilion

  • ClientABIMDE, the Brazilian association of defence and security industries
  • ShowIDEX 2025
  • Stand size81 sqm
  • VenueADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi

Levo Exhibitions built an 81 sqm stand for ABIMDE at IDEX 2025. The brief was a shared one: present several Brazilian member companies under a single national identity. Illuminated company displays in strong blue branding framed open meeting areas.

A dedicated conference room, finished with a branded timber feature wall, gave members a private space for scheduled meetings without breaking the unified Brazil presence at the front of the stand.

Spetstechnoexport Ukraine exhibition stand at IDEX 2025 with aircraft scale models and digital displays, built by Levo Exhibitions

Spetstechnoexport, 120 sqm export stand

  • ClientState Foreign Trade Enterprise Spetstechnoexport, Ukraine
  • ShowIDEX 2025
  • Stand size120 sqm
  • VenueADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi

Levo Exhibitions built a 120 sqm stand for Spetstechnoexport at IDEX 2025. The design was built around scale models of aircraft and defence equipment, supported by interactive displays and a screen-backed reception counter.

An illuminated lounge and a conference meeting space sat beside the model showcase, so a product conversation could move straight into a private discussion without the visitor leaving the stand.

Levo Exhibitions built a 136.5 sqm national pavilion for the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic at Dubai Airshow 2025, and has delivered official pavilions for Poland, Belarus, the Czech Republic and Malaysia at other shows in the region.

Stand strategy by IDEX exhibitor type

IDEX gathers defence primes, national pavilions, specialist suppliers and new technology entrants on one floor. Who you are, and who you need to meet, should shape the layout before anyone chooses a finish.

Defence primes and systems integrators

Senior delegations, partner meetings and capability briefings, often at the same time. Separate the demonstration zone from the hosting zone so a live briefing never competes with a walk-up visitor.

National pavilions and associations

A national pavilion at IDEX brings several companies under one national identity, as with ABIMDE. Plan shared meeting rooms members can book, consistent branding across every exhibitor and a reception that can receive a minister without disrupting the companies behind it.

Specialist suppliers and SMEs

Compact footprints competing with very large neighbours. One sharp message at height and one meeting space done properly will outperform a crowded stand that tries to show everything.

Naval and maritime exhibitors

NAVDEX runs alongside IDEX at ADNEC. If you also need a NAVDEX stand builder, one team can carry a single design language across both stands, with scale models and vessel content planned against hall lighting and viewing distance.

Defence AI and software companies

IDEX NXT, the defence AI platform, makes its debut at IDEX 2027. Software-led exhibitors need demonstration stations, screen walls and reliable power and data, plus a stand that explains a product visitors cannot touch.

CBRNE and protection specialists

With a dedicated CBRNE Hub in the programme, detection and protective equipment needs secure display, clear labelling and room to demonstrate kit safely to small groups.

How to plan your IDEX 2027 exhibition stand

IDEX opens in late January, which places the main production weeks across the Christmas and New Year period. Approvals from international head offices often slow during those weeks, so we build that gap into the schedule from the start.

  1. October to early November 2026

    Brief and floor plan

We review your hall position, stand size, open sides, meeting requirement and exhibit list, including models, screens and any equipment, against the organiser's exhibitor manual.

  2. November 2026

    3D concept design

Our in-house designers produce a 3D visualisation and walk-through of your stand, so your team can test the delegation route, meeting rooms and display zone before anything is built.

  3. November to December 2026

    Technical drawings and organiser submission

Structural, electrical and rigging drawings are prepared and submitted to the organiser against its published deadlines, with revisions handled inside the programme.

  4. December 2026 to early January 2027

    Fabrication, graphics and AV

Joinery, steelwork, lighting, print and AV housings are produced at our Dubai Investment Park workshop, with pre-assembly where a design needs it.

  5. January 2027

Delivery, build-up, show support and dismantle

The stand travels by road from Dubai to ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi for build-up in the allocated slot. Our team supports you daily from 25 to 29 January, then dismantles and stores reusable elements.

Planning in October 2026? There are around fourteen weeks between mid-October and opening day. That is enough for a well-run custom exhibition stand on a single level if your brief reaches us in the next few weeks. A new two-storey structure is a different matter, because engineering certification and organiser approval need more time than the remaining window allows. Our guide to double decker stands at ADNEC explains why.

What exhibitors ask before building at IDEX

When and where is IDEX 2027?

IDEX 2027 takes place from 25 to 29 January 2027 at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi. It is the 17th edition of the International Defence Exhibition and Conference, organised by ADNEC Group in association with the UAE Ministry of Defence and Tawazun Council, and runs alongside NAVDEX 2027. The organiser first announced 21 to 25 January 2027, so check that any plans made earlier reflect the current dates.

Who builds exhibition stands at IDEX?

Levo Exhibitions is a Dubai-based premium stand builder and exhibition stand contractor that designs and builds custom stands at IDEX, with IDEX 2025 builds for INDRA (104 sqm), ABIMDE (81 sqm) and Spetstechnoexport (120 sqm). Levo delivers each stand on a turnkey basis covering design, engineering, fabrication, installation and dismantling, with production at its workshop in Dubai Investment Park.

How early should we start planning an IDEX 2027 exhibition stand?

Brief your contractor at least three months before the show for a custom single-level stand, which for IDEX 2027 means by late October 2026. The year-end holiday period falls in the middle of production, so earlier is safer. A new two-storey stand needs around six months because of structural certification and organiser approval.

Can one contractor build our stands at both IDEX and NAVDEX?

Yes. IDEX and NAVDEX run at the same time at ADNEC, and Levo can act as your IDEX and NAVDEX stand builder under one project manager. A single contractor keeps the brand identity, graphics and visitor experience consistent across the two shows and simplifies logistics and build-up scheduling.

What should a defence exhibition stand include?

A controlled reception for delegations, at least one enclosed meeting room, a display zone for models or screens, and branding visible from a distance. Beyond those essentials, the layout depends on whether you are hosting senior visitors, demonstrating technology or representing several companies under one national pavilion.

Do you build national and association pavilions at IDEX?

Yes. Levo Exhibitions built the ABIMDE stand for Brazilian defence and security companies at IDEX 2025. Levo has also delivered official national pavilions for Poland, Belarus, the Czech Republic and Malaysia, and a national pavilion for the Czech Republic Ministry of Defence at Dubai Airshow 2025. Pavilion work involves government approval cycles, protocol for ministerial visits and layouts shared by several exhibitors.

What affects the cost of an IDEX stand?

The main drivers are floor area, the number of open sides, the number of enclosed meeting rooms, the volume of AV and interactive content, and how much of the stand is reused from a previous build. Levo prepares an itemised proposal against your brief, so you can see where the budget sits and adjust the design before fabrication begins.

Can we reuse our IDEX stand at IDEX 2029 or other defence shows?

Yes, much of it. IDEX takes place every two years, so frames, counters, meeting room structures and AV housings can be stored at our Dubai Investment Park workshop and rebuilt with new graphics for the next edition or for other shows on your defence calendar.

Can you deliver an IDEX stand from Dubai to Abu Dhabi?

Yes. Levo fabricates at its Dubai Investment Park workshop and moves the stand by road to ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi. Our crew handles build-up in the allocated slot, supports you on site throughout the show and dismantles the stand afterwards.
