Experience, not adjectives

Twenty Beautyworld stands,
and clients who came back

Levo Exhibitions is an exhibition stand builder in Dubai that has designed and built 20 documented stands at Beautyworld. Levo builds custom exhibition stands, also called exhibition booths, on a turnkey basis covering 3D design, engineering, fabrication, installation and dismantling.

Levo built a 160 sqm stand for Rasasi and a 93.5 sqm stand for Azha Perfumes, both at Beautyworld 2024 at Dubai World Trade Centre. Levo Exhibitions is based in Dubai, trades as Levo Advertising LLC, and has completed more than 3,000 projects with a 75 person in-house team.

Beautyworld is the show Levo has built at more than any other. The number that matters is not twenty, though. It is that Rasasi appointed Levo across successive editions, and Hemani did the same. In an industry where exhibitors re-tender almost every year, being asked back is the only review that counts.

Rasasi, 160 sqm

  • Stand size160 sqm
  • VenueDubai World Trade Centre (DWTC)

Rasasi is one of the best known Emirati perfume houses, and at 160 sqm this is the largest Beautyworld stand in Levo's documented portfolio. The brief for a heritage fragrance brand at this show is unusual: the stand has to read as a boutique rather than a booth, because the buyers walking the Finished Fragrances halls are comparing brand worlds, not product specifications.

The design answers that with illuminated archways, a form drawn directly from Arabian architectural language and one Levo has developed with Rasasi across more than one edition. Arches do three things at once here. They frame product bays into distinct collections. They carry the brand above head height, so the stand is legible from down the aisle. And they create a threshold, so a visitor feels they have entered somewhere rather than walked past a wall.

Behind the retail frontage sit a reception area and a separate meeting space. Fragrance deals at Beautyworld are distribution deals, often territory by territory, and those conversations cannot happen at a testing counter.

Azha Perfumes, 93.5 sqm

  • ClientAzha Perfumes
  • ShowBeautyworld 2024
  • Stand size93.5 sqm
  • VenueDubai World Trade Centre

At 93.5 sqm, Azha had roughly half Rasasi's footprint and a different problem to solve. The stand needed presence on the aisle and hospitality inside, and there was not enough floor to treat those as separate zones without one of them feeling mean.

The solution was an illuminated arched entrance that does the aisle work on its own, with a digital display carrying campaign content so the frontage stays current without rebuilding the structure. That freed the interior for what actually converts a Gulf fragrance buyer: an Arabic themed majlis lounge alongside a conventional meeting area.

That is not decoration. In this market a serious distribution conversation involves sitting, coffee and unhurried time. A stand that offers nowhere to sit properly quietly signals that you are not expecting to do serious business, and buyers read it.

What the show floor actually demands

Designing a fragrance and beauty stand: six things that decide the outcome

A Beautyworld stand is not a trade booth with product on it. It is a temporary retail environment, judged by buyers who spend their working lives in retail environments. These are the six factors that separate a stand that holds people from one they walk past, and most of them are decided at design stage rather than on site.

01

Scent does not respect stand boundaries

This is the constraint that has no equivalent at any other Dubai show. In the Finished Fragrances halls you are sampling in open air, next to competitors doing the same. Uncontrolled, the aisle becomes a wall of mixed scent. Nothing you show can be evaluated properly, and your neighbours have the same complaint about you.

The design responses are physical. Set sampling positions back from the aisle line rather than on it. Use enclosed or semi-enclosed testing bays for hero products. Plan blotter supply, disposal and coffee beans as consumables. They need replenishing across three days, not stocking once on day one. Where the budget allows, extraction above the heaviest sampling point makes a measurable difference.

The test: can a buyer smell your lead fragrance without smelling the stand opposite? If not, the sampling area is in the wrong place.

02

Lighting colour is a product decision, not a mood decision

For cosmetics and skincare, lighting is the single most under-specified element on the average stand. Foundation, lipstick and colour cosmetics look different under warm venue lighting than under neutral daylight-balanced light, and a buyer evaluating shade range under the wrong temperature is evaluating the wrong product.

Specify colour rendering explicitly at design stage. Use neutral, high colour rendering light over swatch and demonstration areas. Use warmer accent light only for fragrance display, where the goal is atmosphere rather than accuracy. These are different fittings serving different jobs, and mixing them without thinking produces a stand that flatters nothing.

The test: does your product look on stand the way it looks in your own retail environment? Bring a known reference and check it during build-up, not on opening morning.

03

Shelving density fights the hero product

Fragrance and cosmetics exhibitors arrive with more SKUs than the stand can carry. The instinct is to show everything on the booth, and it is almost always wrong. A wall of 200 bottles reads as a wholesaler; twelve products with space around them read as a brand, and Beautyworld buyers are making judgements about brand positioning as much as about assortment.

The workable structure is tiered. Give a small number of hero products real space and light. Group collections into legible bays behind them. Keep the long tail in a catalogue or on a screen rather than on a shelf. This is also the decision that most affects whether a 90 sqm stand feels generous or cramped.

The test: can a visitor name your lead product after five seconds at the aisle line? If everything is equally visible, nothing is.

04

Height is what gets you found

Beautyworld fills the Dubai World Trade Centre halls across ten product sections. At floor level, one stand looks much like the next from thirty metres away. What carries is anything above head height: arches, portals, suspended structures, raised brand blocks and overhead signage.

This is why the Rasasi stands use illuminated archways and Azha uses an arched entrance. The Arabian architectural reference matters to this audience. An arch is also structurally efficient: it puts brand identity at a height that reads down an aisle, and frames the retail space underneath it. Check rigging permissions and height limits for your hall before committing, because they vary.

The test: stand thirty metres away in the aisle. Can you tell whose stand it is?

05

Gulf buyers expect to sit down

A distribution conversation in this market is not conducted standing at a counter. It involves seating, coffee and unhurried time, and for regional fragrance houses in particular a majlis-style lounge is not a decorative flourish but the place the deal actually happens.

The design consequence is simple. Hospitality has to be planned into the footprint from the start, not squeezed in once the product displays are laid out. On the Azha stand at 93.5 sqm, the Arabic lounge and the meeting area were both protected in the plan before the retail frontage was resolved. A stand with nowhere comfortable to sit quietly signals that you are not expecting serious business, and experienced buyers read that immediately.

The test: where does a two-hour conversation with a regional distributor take place? If the answer is "at the counter", the plan needs revisiting.

06

Three days of handling shows on the finishes

Beauty is a hands-on category. Testers are picked up, skincare is applied, and surfaces are touched constantly. Unlike a technology show, almost every visitor interacts physically with something on your booth.

Specify accordingly. Wipeable, non-marking surfaces at handling height. Fingerprint-resistant finishes on display furniture. High-gloss dark laminates look extraordinary on day one and poor by the afternoon of day two. Concealed storage for tester stock, spillage kit and cleaning materials. Enough power outlets for devices in the Beauty Tech and salon supply sections. None of this is glamorous, and all of it is visible to a buyer on the final afternoon.

The test: what does the stand look like at 4pm on day three? Design for that, not for the photograph taken at 9am on day one.

We have solved these twenty times

Send your hall, stand size and product mix. We will come back with a concept that answers all six, and tell you honestly what your footprint can carry.

Ten sections, ten different briefs

Stand strategy by Beautyworld product section

Messe Frankfurt splits Beautyworld Dubai into ten product sections. Your section decides who walks your aisle and what they came to do, which should decide the stand long before anyone chooses a finish.

Finished Fragrances

The most competitive visual environment at the show, and the one where scent control matters most. Buyers are assessing brand world, not specification. Build a boutique: controlled sampling, hero products given space, identity carried overhead, and seated hospitality for distribution talks.

Fragrance Compounds

A technical audience buying ingredients and formulation capability. Retail theatre is wasted here. What works is credible presentation of the house's range, private space for confidential formulation discussion, and surfaces suited to evaluation rather than display.

Cosmetics and Skincare

Colour accuracy is the whole game. Neutral high colour rendering lighting over swatch areas, demonstration surfaces that wipe clean, and mirrors positioned so a buyer can assess product on skin rather than on a card.

Hair, Nails and Salon Supplies

The most active floor at the show, with live demonstration running most of the day. Plan for water and waste where required, generous power, seating for an audience around the demo position, and enough circulation that a crowd does not block the aisle.

Beauty Tech

Devices, diagnostics and AI-driven tools. Screens fight venue lighting, so brightness and angle are design decisions. Provide charging, reliable connectivity independent of venue wifi, and a queue position for hands-on trials.

Prestigepack and Supply Chain

You are selling componentry, machinery or contract manufacturing to brand owners. Samples need to be handled, compared and specified, so this stand is closer to a workshop than a boutique: sample walls, work surfaces and technical meeting space.

Personal Care and Hygiene

Volume-driven, with buyers comparing across broad ranges. Legible category zoning beats individual product hero treatment, and clear pricing-adjacent information architecture helps a buyer shortlist quickly.

International Country Pavilions

Multiple exhibitors under one national identity, with government or trade body sign-off. Levo has built the Poland pavilion here. Expect shared meeting space, consistent brand treatment across separate companies, and protocol requirements for delegation visits.

Beauty Beginnings

The start-up and SME section, usually compact pods with tight organiser rules. Clarity wins: say what you do in plain language, one strong visual, and light it properly, because pod lighting is generally poor.

Choosing your build type

Shell scheme, upgraded shell scheme or custom booth?

Beautyworld exhibitors choose between three build types: a shell scheme, an upgraded shell scheme, or a custom exhibition stand.

A shell scheme is the organiser's standard package of walls, fascia and basic lighting. An upgraded shell scheme keeps that structure and adds custom graphics, flooring, lighting and display furniture. A custom booth is designed and engineered from scratch to your own footprint, brand and product mix. Levo Exhibitions builds upgraded shell schemes and custom exhibition stands, and will tell you honestly which one your budget and timeline support.

The honest guidance. If you are under four weeks out, or exhibiting at Beautyworld for the first time and unsure of the return, an upgraded shell scheme is usually the better use of budget than a rushed custom booth. It is also the option most contractors will quietly steer you away from, because it is worth less to them. If the stand is carrying your brand argument in front of distributors, as it was for Rasasi at 160 sqm, a custom exhibition stand is the only build type that does the job.

Worth knowing

Beautyworld Middle East is now Beautyworld Dubai

Beautyworld Middle East has been rebranded as Beautyworld Dubai by its organiser, Messe Frankfurt.

The show itself is unchanged: same organiser, same venue at Dubai World Trade Centre, same October slot, and the 2026 edition is the 30th. Only the name has moved. The organiser's former web address now redirects to the Beautyworld Dubai site.

If you are searching for exhibitor documentation, hall plans or contractor deadlines, search both names. A good deal of the material still in circulation, including third-party listings and older exhibitor manuals, carries the previous name, and some of it is now out of date on other details too.

The wider Beautyworld family also includes editions in Riyadh and elsewhere, so confirm you are reading documentation for the Dubai show specifically before you rely on any deadline in it.

Delivery

How a Beautyworld stand gets built, and when to start

Six months is comfortable. Three months is normal. Under six weeks is fast-track. Beautyworld is a home fixture, so there is no customs or overseas fabrication question in the timeline. Levo's studio is on Sheikh Zayed Road directly opposite DWTC, and the workshop is at Dubai Investment Park.

01

Brief and floor plan, six to three months out

We review your product section, hall allocation, stand size and open sides, your SKU count and what you need the stand to do, then confirm Messe Frankfurt's technical regulations for the current edition.

02

3D concept design, one to two weeks

Our in-house designers produce a 3D booth design and walk-through, resolving the sampling layout, lighting specification and hospitality footprint before anything is engineered. Most clients take two rounds of revisions on the 3D design.

03

Engineering and organiser approval, three to five weeks

Structural drawings, load calculations, electrical layouts and rigging plans prepared and submitted to the organiser. Overhead structures and suspended branding are the elements most likely to need revision, so they are resolved first.

04

Fabrication and graphics, three to five weeks

Carpentry, steel, display joinery, lighting and print produced at our Dubai Investment Park workshop. This is a turnkey booth build: Levo owns design, fabrication, logistics and installation, so there is no second contractor to coordinate. Display furniture and tester counters are prototyped where finish quality is critical.

05

Install, show support, dismantle

Build-up at Dubai World Trade Centre, snagging, daily support across all three show days including tester replenishment support and surface cleaning, then dismantle and storage of reusable elements for the next edition.

Exhibiting at Beautyworld Dubai 2026 and reading this in August?

With roughly nine weeks to the doors opening, a full custom build is tight but not impossible, and it is a considerably better position than most shows at this range because everything is produced locally. What is realistic depends on whether your structure needs organiser approval for overhead elements. Send your stand size and hall position and we will tell you honestly what can be delivered properly, including whether a modular structure with custom cladding and bespoke display furniture is the better use of the budget this year.

Beautyworld stand questions

What exhibitors ask before building at Beautyworld

When and where is Beautyworld Dubai 2026?

Beautyworld Dubai 2026 takes place from 6 to 8 October 2026 at Dubai World Trade Centre. It is the 30th edition, organised by Messe Frankfurt Middle East, and is the largest international trade fair for beauty products, hair, fragrances and wellbeing in the Middle East. The show is divided into ten product sections spanning finished fragrances, fragrance compounds, cosmetics and skincare, hair nails and salon supplies, beauty tech, personal care, packaging, supply chain, country pavilions and a start-up section.

Is Beautyworld Middle East the same show as Beautyworld Dubai?

Yes. Beautyworld Middle East has been renamed Beautyworld Dubai by its organiser, Messe Frankfurt. The venue, the October slot and the organiser are unchanged, and the 2026 edition is the 30th. The organiser's former web address now redirects to the Beautyworld Dubai site. When searching for exhibitor manuals, hall plans or contractor deadlines, check both names, because a lot of third-party material still carries the old one.

Who builds exhibition stands at Beautyworld in Dubai?

Levo Exhibitions is an exhibition stand builder and booth contractor for Beautyworld in Dubai, with 20 documented projects on this show floor. They include a 160 sqm stand for Rasasi and a 93.5 sqm stand for Azha Perfumes, both at the 2024 edition, plus builds for ABC Fragrances, Hemani, Fragrance Science, Expressions Parfumées, Sorvella, New Cosmesy, Senelle, UFlex, BFF and the Poland national pavilion. Levo is based at Latifa Tower on Sheikh Zayed Road, directly opposite Dubai World Trade Centre, with a workshop at Dubai Investment Park.

How do you stop fragrance sampling interfering between stands?

By moving sampling away from the aisle line and containing it physically. Set testing positions back from the stand edge rather than on it, use enclosed or semi-enclosed bays for hero fragrances, and where budget allows put extraction above the heaviest sampling point. Blotters, disposal bins and neutralising coffee beans need treating as consumables replenished across all three days. The practical test is whether a buyer can assess your lead fragrance without also smelling the stand opposite.

What lighting does a cosmetics stand need?

Neutral, high colour rendering lighting over any area where product is evaluated on skin, and warmer accent lighting only where the goal is atmosphere. Foundation, lipstick and colour cosmetics look materially different under warm venue lighting, so a buyer assessing shade range under the wrong colour temperature is assessing the wrong product. Specify colour rendering explicitly at design stage rather than leaving it to the fit-out, and check it against a known reference during build-up.

How long does it take to build a Beautyworld stand?

Six months is comfortable, three months is normal, and under six weeks is fast-track. The binding constraint is usually organiser approval of structural, electrical and rigging drawings rather than fabrication, particularly for overhead structures and suspended branding. Beautyworld has an advantage over an overseas build in that everything is produced locally at Levo's Dubai Investment Park workshop, with no customs or import route in the timeline.

What is the difference between a shell scheme and a custom booth?

A shell scheme is the organiser's standard package of walls, fascia and basic lighting. A custom booth is designed and engineered from scratch to your own footprint, brand and product mix. Between them sits the upgraded shell scheme, which keeps the organiser's structure but adds custom graphics, flooring, lighting and display furniture. Shell schemes cannot carry overhead branding beyond a fascia name board, cannot provide enclosed sampling or meeting space, and cannot be reused. A custom exhibition stand can do all three, but needs full structural, electrical and rigging approval from the organiser and a longer lead time.

Which halls does Beautyworld use at Dubai World Trade Centre?

Beautyworld has occupied Za'abeel Halls 1 to 6, Sheikh Saeed Halls 1 to 3 and the Trade Centre Arena at DWTC. The Sheikh Saeed complex runs to roughly 25,000 sqm, the Za'abeel halls to roughly 15,000 sqm and the Trade Centre Arena to roughly 9,100 sqm. Your hall matters for stand design, because ceiling height, rigging permissions and access for build-up differ between them. Confirm your allocation with Messe Frankfurt before design begins rather than assuming last year's specification carries over.

What is included in a turnkey exhibition booth?

A turnkey booth means one contractor owns everything from concept to dismantle, so the exhibitor coordinates one relationship rather than five. For Levo Exhibitions that covers 3D booth design and revisions, structural and electrical engineering, submission of drawings for organiser approval, fabrication of joinery, steel, display furniture and graphics, delivery and installation at DWTC, on-site support through all three show days, then dismantle and storage of reusable elements. What it does not cover is anything the organiser mandates be bought through them, such as certain venue services, which are declared separately.

What affects the cost of a Beautyworld stand?

Stand area, the number of open sides, single or double decker structure, and the level of custom display joinery are the four largest drivers. Three further items move the figure more than beauty exhibitors expect. Lighting specification, because colour-accurate fittings cost more than generic ones. Bespoke display furniture and tester counters, which are effectively retail fixtures. And any overhead or suspended structure, which brings engineering and rigging into scope. Levo prepares an itemised proposal against your brief so you can adjust before fabrication starts.

Can you reuse our stand from the last edition?

Often yes, and it is a large saving for an annual exhibitor. Structural frames, arches, counters, storerooms and lighting can be stored between editions and rebuilt with new graphics and revised layout. Levo stores reusable elements at Dubai Investment Park. This is how the Rasasi stands developed across successive editions, refining the arch language rather than starting again each year. Confirm the hall allocation first, since a change of hall can affect height limits and rigging permissions.
