PHNIXX @ PISCINA WELLNESS –BARCELONA 2019
Jun 30, 2024

This project in particular made Levo realize its strengths in Project Management & clear judgement during the Production process, despite language barriers.

This was the first time Levo was entrusted with work in Spain by PHNIX (our client previously in BIG 5 Dubai). The planning phase, therefore, was quite meticulous and all possible scenarios were considered.

Brief

The brief included a swimming pool (yes, with water in it), private meeting area, product displays for machines, a bar, and the usual open discussion areas with a hanging element- this is important depending on where you are located in the hall.

Idea

Since it was our client’s first participation in the show, and our first experience, we jumped right in with a curved structure concept which is challenging, however, it is always a unique structure to play with and highly attractive. The stand despite its curvature (which takes up a lot of space) would be open and welcoming, which most of our clients prefer, but is challenging to make.

Inspiration Images Design & Correction Rounds

The first design failed in giving an open & welcoming feel to the stand, which was lost in the structure we were going for. The amount of corrections and re-designs that were done were numerous. There was a lot of back and forth on the initial brief. Sometimes the structure was too bulky, or the swimming pool taking up too much space, the product display number had to be reduced to fit them all in.

Final Design

However, the consistent feedback served as stepping stones towards achieving the design that met all requirements in the brief, whilst maintaining uniqueness of the structure. European stands are usually seen with a clean straight edged design and structure, however we took up the challenge to be different from the rest. Although it took almost 2.5 months, we finally came to a design that was loved by all and achieved the purpose. For the hanging structure we decided to go with a printed fabric which gave a water effect/ reflection of the swimming pool from the bottom. For the swimming pool we went for a waterproof material that would hold the weight of the water and would be the safest option for the 3-day fair.

Sample boards were couriered to our client in China, CAD drawings and material specifications were sent to our production team in Barcelona and it all started coming together.

The Final Build

Five days of build up were given, which was a relaxed time period for us to finish our installation, loaded materials arrived on time, however our parquet flooring took more time than expected, as it was a full parquet flooring covering 104SQM floor space. Our schedule of build up was clear and allowed for unfavorable circumstances, based on this and our judgement we carefully moved through the installation as quickly as possible and in a reasonable timeline. By the day our clients arrived, 95% of the installation was done. Assembly of swimming pool was completed and filled with water on the last day of build up along with the client’s water heater pumps, our vision had been realized!
